We are reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. For Thursday, read the first 10 chapters. If this feels like too much for anyone, speak up quickly and we can modify the reading assignment.

Hope: Amazing Picker (passage picker and you do something creative to go along with your passage)
Writing Assignment:
First of all, I want everyone to keep all the writing you are doing for this class organized in a safe place so that we can revisit it later. Work on editing your tall tale or story this week.
Our next writing piece will be a persuasive essay. Last week we brainstormed some possible topics: being allowed to watch R-rated movies, paving dirt roads, a law against texting while driving, why cows should eat a natural diet, dress codes in schools
Choose a topic from above or come up with one of your own. I'll present the requirements for this piece on Thursday.
